New Level 3 Online Tool Offers Infrastructure Security Diagnosis for Companies in Brazil
Self-evaluation tool enables comparison of company’s security level to the national market

São Paulo, September 11, 2017 Level 3 commissioned IDC, a leading analyst firm, to build an online tool, available now, which allows companies to measure the level of maturity of their IT infrastructure security and compare it to the Level 3 Security Index. The Project offers users a report containing information and recommendations to continue enhancing their security practices.

Access the tool here: http://www.segurancanainfraestrutura.com.br

Key Facts:

  • The new, online tool is available for Brazilian companies, not only Level 3 customers.
  • Level 3 Security Index is a maturity index for security in IT infrastructure, developed by IDC, which explores the understanding of the importance of information security for the business as well as the security and infrastructure manager’s knowledge regarding impacts should a disaster occur; the capabilities for detecting and measuring threats to the system; maturity employed in activities for maintenance of security systems; procedures adopted for reducing existing Information Security risks and measures for containing and recovering from attacks.
  • Level 3 has its first Latam Scrubbing Center located in São Paulo, Brazil, and 11 around the world. Scrubbing centers are responsible for detecting anomalies in traffic, analyzing effects, notifying customers and helping mitigate the impact of attacks.
  • The service is available non-stop and provides the detection and cleansing of traffic in real-time.
  • With a total capacity of 4.5 Tbps of attack ingestion and scrubbing capacity, Level 3’s footprint provides the bandwidth to re-route traffic to eleven different regional scrubbing centers. DDoS attack traffic is filtered, and normal traffic is returned.
  • Level 3’s security team monitors approximately 1.4 billion security events and responds to and mitigates approximately 100 DDoS attacks daily. Twelve percent of DDoS attacks are directed to Latam and around 40 percent of the attacks monitored daily are considered new to the sector.
  • Level 3 also monitors more than 1 million malicious packets and more than 94 billion netflow sessions per day.
